Thursday, April 23, 2009

LE ROY -- A donation from Five Star Bank will allow the town to install glass backboards and flex rims on the basketball court at Hartwood Park.

Five Star gave the town $1,900 which will be used as part of renovations at the park on Summit Street.

The town also is having Australian pines planted as a wind buffer and resurfacing the court.

Five Star Bank regional president John Witkowski presented town Supervisor Tim McCulley with a check during a ceremony at the park last week.

Witkowski said the bank was "proud to give back to the community."

"Having the opportunity to contribute to programs that help children not only learn but also stay fit and active is part of what being a community bank is all about."
