Jim Oliver of Avatar Staffs has found an environmentally-friendly way to create wizard staffs and "Harry Potter" magic wands.

The artist, who resides in Palmetto, Manatee County, collected fallen trees from Hurricane Charley and has utilized invasive species, such as Australian pine trees, to create beautifully crafted art pieces.

Mr. Oliver even shapes flutes out of scraps of wood, often mistaken for weather tree limbs. His artistic wood crafting can be seen at the Tampa Bay Renaissance Festival at MOSI, which runs through the weekend of April 5th.
